Sri Ramakrishna Sarada Mandir, has a unique and inspiring history rooted in devotion and selfless service. The site where the mandir stands today was once a betel (areca) nut factory, a thriving business center. However, with the immense love and devotion of the business owners towards the holy trio, they decided to transform the place into a spiritual center. Recognizing that spirituality and business should not coexist in the same space, the family shifted their business elsewhere to ensure the proper spiritual enrichment and sanctity of the mandir.
The foundation ceremony (Bhitti Sthapan) of the temple took place on June 20, 2023, performed by Swami Muktipradananda, the secretary of Ramharipur Mission Ashram, Bankura (under Belur Math). The puja on that auspicious day of Ratha Yatra was conducted by Swami Divyanisthananda, headmaster of Ramharipur Mission High School, Bankura. After nearly a year of dedicated efforts and hard work, the grand inauguration of the temple took place on July 7, 2024, once again on the holy occasion of Ratha Yatra. The inauguration was led by Swami Balabhadrananda Ji Maharaj, the Assistant General Secretary of Belur Math, and was marked by a gathering of around 60 revered monks from Belur Math and beyond, who graced the occasion with their blessings and devotees of an estimated 7,000 attended the ceremony.
Sri Ramakrishna Sarada Mandir stands today as a beacon of spiritual growth and community service, fostering devotion, wisdom, and selfless service in the hearts of all who visit.
